I'm trying to do some stamp embossing but it's not working..... why?
I'm trying to do some stamp embossing. I'm using embossing ink and embossing powder. But instead of buying a heat gun, I'm using a blow hair dryer (which blows pretty hot.) I have not been able to get the embossing powder to burn, and cause the paper to rise (I'm using card-stock.) I've tried holding the hair dryer to it for at least 5 minutes.
Am I not holding the hair dryer to the paper long enough? Is it possible that the embossing powder is not working?
I had the same problem with the embossing technique. BUT I WASNT USING A HAIR DRYER though lol. It was my first time doing this technique. Took me a couple of tries before I finally accomplished the technique. I recommend you buy a heat gun. A great one would be Marvy (its like long, burgendish glitter or so) You can type it in google Marvy Heat Gun & view results. I however bought mine using a 50% off ONE item coupon at Michaels a while back. It cost me around $11 for it instead of the full price. (cheap eh?). Heat Guns have their purpose. & Hair dryers have theirs. Stick to their main purpose. Obviously 5 minutes was way too long & no results occurred. Should be a couple of seconds before the powder starts to melt, not minutes. For further help with techniques on embossing I highly recommend using youtube.com & typing embossing techniques. A lot of searches will come up. Their very helpful. I have used a few to help me out when I stared this embossing thing. I'm not a pro at it yet, still working on it.
