How long after having grommets inserted,will she not be able to go swimming,as due to start lesssons?

i was told 6 weeks with my son, but was told still to use plugs or hat. This was ten years ago and still not allowed to get water in his ears, but my son had a tympanoplasty as well. Hope he gets better soon.
