Impact Poly
Polycarbonate or fiberglass helmet?

Which one is better? One article says the fiberglass is better (and lighter). Other tests says the poly is better, it absorbed more impact in the shell and passed less of it to the head while fiberglass is hard so passed more trauma to the head... Or as long as it passed the snell and dot it should be good? I'm looking at the Scorpion helmets. Thanks!

I've riding and racing for 40 yrs and have seen many helmets after crashes. Most tracks do not allow polycarbonate helmets because they tend to shatter on high speed impacts.Fiberglass will crack but hold togeather better after impact. In either case once a helmet makes contact with the pavement it's done and is no longer safe to use.I pefer HLC helmets as the fit and weight is really good.
