How can I remove old carpet glue from a metal floor vent?
We just bought a vintage house with original hardwood floors. Unfortunately the previous owners carpeting the master bedroom. We tore up the carpet to find an old heating vent in the floor, which is no longer functional, and was carpeted over. The carpet glue was applied directly to the metal vent and now there is glue and carpet padding remnants stuck to it. What's the best way to get all that junk off? I'm thinking paint thinner or something. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Goo gone or Oops work great at removing glue. Nail polish remover works too.
