Death is hardly glorious. Most of the time it happens while someone else is milking a cow or beating the dust out of a rug less than a mile away. It happens when children are playing near the river and didn't particularly want to fall in. Or when the warrior was eating an orange and choked on the insignificant seed.
In the end you won't realize the insignificance of your life 2001:A Space Odessey - style. You won't see psychedelic colors in the heart wrenching revelation that you never knew anything. In the end all you'll ever have is that 30 seconds when you sobbed into your pillow for no particular reason, except that intuitive knowledge that you lived it all for nothing. That curiosity at the back of your mind wondering if there's anything beyond existence, and the crushing truth that there isn't. The knowledge so painful that your conscious mind can't percieve it, and it will always lay there, a dull thudding lesion on the back of your skull.
