What do you think of this barrel saddle I want to build?
It will probably be a Joey Wenger saddle.

Those are some of the barrel saddles he's made.
My problem is, that I want something a lot different then what most barrel saddles look like. I want no tooling with oiling like this:

Would this look weird?

I don't think I'll be selling it though, because it's also a trophy saddle that will have a few words on it too.
He looks to build a good saddle.
I don't think there is a right or wrong. The only one that needs to be happy with it is you and your horse.
I like the concho you picked.
Remember, if you stray too far from the norm and ever decide to sell it, it might be more difficult.
On the alligator seat, I'd personally prefer a rough out seat for better grip. Also, the texture might not be so pleasant after a few hours.
