What's a good first mechanic Tool Set to buy?

Although it's myfirst tool set I know basic car mechanics and maintenance (spark plugs, gaskets, oil, pads, etc..)
Automobile tools, profesionlal, and economical.

If you want tools that will last a lifetime S&K is a good bet and a lot less expensive than Mac or Snap-On. My 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 sets are over 40 years old. None of the sockets have ever broken. I misused my 3/8 ratchet and stripped out the ratcheting mechanism one time. A $5.00 part put me back in business. Upu can find some good deals on ebay for new S&K Tools. Be careful what you buy as most are metric and their are only a few standard sets.

The best premium Sears tools would suit any home mechanic but I've broken many sockets and sprung open open end wrenches. Their screwdrivers are terrible. The ends aren't hardened like Klein tools are that you can find in Lowes.
