Industrial Piercing: Can I just cheat by getting 2 ear piercings, then replacing the studs with one rod?
I do have a high tolerance for pain, but to save money and time, could I just get 2 simple piercings across from each other done by Claire's and replace it with a Industrial Rod after it heals?
I realize that the rods are thicker in diameter, but is there a thinner type? etc.?
Industrial barbells are thicker than Claire's earrings for a reason. They are not made any thinner than 14g. In addition, Guns cannot maneuver that well. Your piercings would not line up at all if you got pierced at Claire's and tried to put a single piece of jewelry in. Also, piercing guns are extremely unsafe for cartilage.
You can go to a body piercer & get one cartilage piercing at a time, and eventually turn it into an industrial, but it will not work if you get pierced at Claire's.
