What solution to repair melted silencer with finishing?
I have Bajaj Discover Bike 112 CC. It is three years old. Now a problem arise that silencer of my bike is becoming melt. This problem is arising in other Bajaj Discover Bikes also. Mechanic suggested me to gas weld it or change the new silencer. Cost of new original silencer from agency is about Rs 3000 and from market about Rs. 2500 which is very higher. Cost of duplicate silencer is about Rs. 1200. On other hand if I gas weld the silencer, it will look ugly according to condition of bike. Is it possible to make Nickel Polish on it after welding? Or please tell me other solution to repair it with finishing?

The problem: As you have discovered, the metallurgy of Bajaj is poor. So, metal related problems will continuously occur on a "disco" -in fact any bajaj.
There are just 3 possible solutions for this problem.
1) Gas weld the silencer then have it chrome plated. Drawback: If the welding is poor, then it will still look ugly.
2) Buy a new silencer. Drawback: After a few years, that will also melt.
3) Buy a better bike. Drawback: It may not come as cheap as a 'disco".
My suggestion, go for the 3rd choice. It's the most reliable.
