I have a Western field Automatic 12 ga by Browning Design with numbers 3942 on it. Any info on this?
Stevens/Savage bought into the Browning patent in the early 1900's and manufactured these shotguns for Montgomery Ward. Your shotgun was made between 1930 and 1949. Savage serial number info is not available online, so you may want to contact them. However, based on the serial number you have an early model
It is the same as the Savage model 720 if you want to research it further. In great condition it is a $200.00 shotgun, unless it is one of the sought after military models. The military issue can go for over $400.00 in great condition.
