is it possible to do vaulting with a western saddle?

i want to do vaulting on my horse but i want to know if you can do it with a western saddle? i only have a western saddle and a english one without sturrups for some reason. please tell me!
i also take gymanastics. i think that might help a little
and what is a surcingle? and can i make one? if so how?

You'll also need someone to lunge your horse, and make sure your horse won't spook. You could do some vaulting manouvers, but not very many. Your english saddle would probably work better, but you should get a surcingle (its like a plastic sort of saddle) if you are serious about vaulting. You will have to buy one though.
